Benjamin Donald Barnett
Canton - Benjamin Donald Barnett, 87, of Canton, passed away at 11:41 am December 22, 2019 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on February 6, 1932 in Macomb to Estle Lloyd and Edith Faith (Poland) Barnett.
Surviving are his children; David A. (Marilyn) Barnett of Fairview, Robin G. Maddox of Hill City, MN, Joy L. Mestre of Kilgore, TX, fur lady Little Taz, step children; Carolyn (Craig) Dube of Oceanside, CA, Ronald Palmer of Iowa, D.J. Palmer of Littleton, CO, Billie A. Maggard of Yakima, WA, sister Ruth Howell of Canton, thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers William Barnett, and John Barnett, and three sisters; Mildred Crawford, Barbara Myers, and Edna Williams.
Benjamin was a handyman and worked at the former Hegele's Dairy in Canton and Producers in Peoria. He was in the US Marine Corps from 1950 - 1989, retired as a 1st Sargent. He was a member of VFW Post #1984 in Canton, American Legion Post #323 in Henry, and Elks Lodge #626 in Canton. He was of the Baptist faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will not be any services. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to either the VFW or Elks Lodge. To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com
