March 30, 1953 - December 27, 2019
Cynthia Teresa Sharkey, age 66, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 6:56 pm on Friday December 27, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on March 30, 1953 in Pittsburg, PA, she was the daughter of John and Thresa (Vodzak) Paunovich.
Cynthia attended Columbia City Joint High School and graduated with Class of 1972 and from Ivy Tech South Bend as an LPN in 1994. She worked as an LPN until her retirement in 2015.
Cynthia enjoyed collecting lighthouses, traveling, camping, bird watching, gardening, listening to music, watching old westerns, and especially spending time with her family. She also loved Chihuahuas and was an IOPO donor.
Survivors include her children Heather Reiff of Etna Green, Amy (Darin) Yoder of Syracuse,NY, Beth (Mike) Albert of Brandon, MS, and Carla (Ted) Penrod of Warsaw; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Kevin (Kim) Paunovich of Surprise, AZ, and Patricia Trumbull and Stacey Paunovich, both of Markle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederic Sharkey, and sister Lois Jean Ogden.
Funeral services for Cynthia will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday ,January 3, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior to service.
