Thomas Lee Fisher, Sr., 72, of Wayland, Missouri died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 5:23 a.m. at his home.
He was born on October 14, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Francis "Fritz" Lee and Marge Calhoun Fisher. He married Jane Huff on November 16, 1984 in Fountain City, Wisconsin. She survives.
He lived in Wayland, Missouri the past three years. He was employed with United States Corps of Engineers as a heavy equipment operator for twenty-three years. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping, which he did during the winter months while off the river in Wisconsin. He also enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and boxing. He was a Chicago Bears fan. He was all about his family and his dog Bandit who he loved very much. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife Jane Fisher of Kahoka, Missouri; five children, Thomas L. Fisher, Jr. and his wife Miranda of Keokuk, Kris Fisher and his wife Terri of Keokuk, Sarah Mitchell and her husband David of Keokuk, Debbie Beman and her husband Mike of Rockford, Illinois and Donna Warner and her husband Kurt of Rockford, Illinois; step-son, Mike Williver of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Vicki Larsen and her husband Louie; eight grandchildren, Siera Mitchell, Mia Mitchell, Blaze Fisher, Giana Fischer, April Beman, Becky Beman, Kurtis Warner, Kandice Warner; stepson, Diego; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be Monday, May 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 1212 Concert Street, Keokuk, Iowa with Deacon Bill Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery in Keokuk.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 1212 Concert Street in Keokuk, Iowa with family meeting friends during that time.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeast Missouri, 201 S. Baltimore, Suit C. Kirksville, Missouri, 63501.
