Dorothy M. Caltvedt
September 6, 1932 - January 1, 2020

Dorothy Mae (Eisenhauer) Caltvedt, 87, passed away Jan. 1, 2020, surrounded by her family at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home in Rochester, MN.

Dorothy was born September 6, 1932, on the farm of her parents, August and Helen Eisenhauer, the youngest of six children. She attended school in Buffalo Center and graduated in 1950. Following graduation, she worked at the White House - a café in Blue Earth, MN, before being asked to use her skills to handle million dollar accounts at the ASCS office in Thompson, Iowa.

In 1953, she met Clifford Marvin Caltvedt, whom she married Apr. 17, 1955. She and Clifford farmed with Cliff's parents and they were blessed with four children: Darlene, Betty, Daryl and Calvin. In 1970, Dorothy and her family moved to Buffalo Center. During her years there, she worked at A&W, Driver's Choice, as a Homemaker Health Aide and at Fleetgard, where she retired from in 1999. After Clifford's death in 2003, Dorothy lived with her daughter Betty in Rochester, MN, being a part-time caregiver for her through International Healthcare until 2012.

Dorothy loved Jesus and was active at the Congregational Church, from her baptism in 1932 and throughout her life, teaching Bible and Sunday School, active in Circle and Ladies' Aid, Cradle Roll and other various commitments. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, friends and pets, being a member of the Friendly Birthday Club, gardening and watching Wheel of Fortune.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene DoBell and her husband Dwight, her son Calvin and her granddaughter Amanda (Caltvedt) Steele, husband Dean, great-grandchildren Lucy and Tygo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband Clifford, and children Betty and Daryl Caltvedt.
