"Laverne was one of the most outgoing and genuinely positive people that I have ever known. Visitors were treated like family in her home. She loved people and she loved life. Her collection of craft items was surpassed only by that of her stepdaughter Barb. Barb died 9 years ago and I'm still clearing out boxes of feathers, popsicle sticks, porcupine quills, styrofoam meat trays, etc., etc., etc. Bless you Laverne and sympathy to your beloved family."

Lisa Spencer wrote on May 23, 2011:

"Laverne was an amazing lady. I've know her since I was a little girl. But my favorite memory of her was seeing her at all the ball games she attended to follow her grandkids. I know she really enjoyed attending these events and being included and a part of the lives of her kids and grandkids. She also loved spending time with her neighbors and friends. She loved the community she called home. We will miss you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all who loved her."

"LaVerne opened her house to us crazy kids who were running around soaking wet with squirt guns and singing Karaoke to boot for those summer birthday parties. She attended every game, event, and function in the community that I can remember. Her great family is a living reflection of her good character. Thanks for the memories!"
