Darlene H. Brown, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Bickford Cottages.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery in Duncombe. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2019 with a Vigil starting at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Darlene is survived by her children, Dean (Susan) Brown of Republic, MO, Larry Brown of Gowrie, Kent Brown of Somers, Kurt Brown of Fort Dodge, Karen (Terrance) Young of Scottsdale, AZ, Kristie Thompson of Las Vegas, NV, Julie (Kenneth) Wurch Womack of St, George, UT, Linda (Robert) Stewart of Minneapolis, MN; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Pugh of Austin, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Amanda (Immerfall) Anderson; husband, J. Wilmer Brown; infant brother, Lynn Anderson and brother, Leland Anderson.
Darlene Helen Anderson was born February 3, 1928 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Burnside; graduating from Burnside High School in 1945. On June 5, 1946, Darlene was united in marriage to J. Wilmer Brown at Corpus Christi Church. The couple established their home near Duncombe. She was a long time, proud homemaker, wife and mother as well as owning and operating Brown Electric Company with her husband. Darlene was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Marian Home Auxiliary and the Home Builders Association. She was also an accomplished bowler.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
