"John-just heard about your dad. My sympathy to you and your family. He was a great man that always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. I'll never forget how much fun we always had on our hockey road trips and summer visits to Ten Mile Lake. My prayers are with you. "

"My sympathy to the family. My ex worked at Evert's in the late 1960's and 1970's, so it's been a long time since I saw him. I was sad to notice his obit in the Des Moines Register today. H often stopped in the shop to see how things were going and "borrow" a handful of nuts from the candy store. I never heard him say a cuss word harsher than "oh crumb". He and Jo and you kids were around for shop get-togethers. My prayers are with you."
