Larry Coats

Larry Wayne Coats, 58, of Garland, TX passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 6, 1955 in Dallas to John Leonard and Merle Smith Coats. Larry is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Marilyn Coats, three sons; Nathaniel Coats, Alexander Coats and Thomas Coats, one daughter, Kathryn Coats, two grandchildren; granddaughter, Eva Coats and grandson, Camdyn Ventura, and one sister, Gale Coats Wade. He is preceded in death by his parents. Larry is a lifelong resident of Dallas and through his hobbies of motorcycle riding and restoring old cars, he made many friends. He loved restoring things with his sons from homes to Hotrods. His boys remember with great fun, trips they would take with their dad deep sea fishing. Larry is also known for his great 'cookouts' and parties. When he wasn't with family and friends, he loved the tranquility of his Zen Garden at home where he kept his Koi Pond stocked. This "Jack of all trades" kept busy but always seemed to bring his family in to what he was working on at the time. He will be deeply missed.
