Stephen Paul Meineke, 32 years, passed away on August 22, 2015 at Medical Center of Plano in Plano TX. Steve was born on August 15, 1983 in Dallas TX to Matt and Joanne Meineke. Steve grew up in The Colony TX, Allen TX, and St. Louis, MO. He attended high school in Allen TX and St. Louis, MO. He worked as a Research Project Manager for the past 2 years after having relocated back to the Dallas area from St. Louis, where he had previously worked for 10 years in the same field. Steve had a long term relationship with Laura Heisler of 15 years and together, they had a son, Eli. Steve was a dedicated parent first, but he also enjoyed sports, fishing, and photography. Steve is survived by his fiancé, Laura Heisler, of Plano TX; his son, Eli Meineke; his mother and her companion, Joanne Meineke and Paul Duvall, of Clayton, MO; his father and stepmother, Matt and Terri Meineke, of Allen, TX; his brother, Nicholas Meineke, of Plano, TX; his grandfather, Robert J. Gartland, of St. Louis, MO; his grandmother, Darlene Meineke, of Allen, TX; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members. Steve was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Meineke, his uncle, James Meineke, and his aunt, Cheryl Meineke. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 on August 27, 2015 at Distinctive Life Cremations and Funerals, located at 1611 No. Central Expwy, Plano, TX. Immediately following his memorial service, the family will be greeting family and friends at the same location. Steve was a donor with the Southwest Transplant Alliance and two lives have been helped from his donations, so far. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Southwest Transplant Alliance or a charitable organization of your choice.
