In loving memory of

Michael D. Wiley,
October 10, 2015

Michael Dean Wiley, Sr., 66, of Uhland, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015. A Memorial Celebration in his honor will be held at 3pm, Wednesday, October 21 at 10206 Capitol View Drive, Austin, 78747. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Distinctive Life Cremations & Funerals of Austin. Mike lived in Austin most of his life. He graduated from high school in Lubbock, Tx in 1967. Immediately following, Mike served our country in the Marine Reserves for six years. Upon exiting the USMC, Mike continued his service of his community as a fire fighter for The Austin Fire Department for over 10 years. He also drove an 18 Wheeler for six years, and finally retired after working with his son Michael, Jr. (Dino) for several years at Power House Moving. He continued work at ABIA until his sudden passing. Mike was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a friend. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, family, and friends. Mike was an avid Texas A&M fan following all sports, but especially football, basketball baseball. If A&M won, he was on top of the world. If they lost, it would be advisable to keep a fair distance. He enjoyed an occasional beer, conversation, and always a good shuffle board game. He also loved playing golf, spending time outside, and being around water. He was married to Denise Shuler Wiley of Austin for 20 years. They met as teenagers and were lifelong friends. Mike and Denise had three kids: Missti, Ami, and Michael (Dino), as well as seven grandkids. Mike was known for being a prankster, loving aggravation, and his quirky ways. He could scare the best of them with his creepy disguises, masks, and wigs. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and many that had the privilege of his company over his lifetime. Michael was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by two daughters, Missti Pollock and husband, Leon, of Pflugerville, and Ami Wiley of Taylor; one son, Michael (Dino) Wiley, Jr. of Austin; former wife and friend, Denise Wiley of Austin; seven grandchildren, T.J. Crumley of Kyle, Brooklyn Crumley of Taylor, Hailey Rathke of Pflugerville, Devin Wiley of Austin, Landon Wiley of Austin, Brody Pollock of Pflugerville, and Braden Simpson of Taylor; two brothers, Ronnie Wiley and Pat Wiley; mother, Julia Johnson and Step-Father Walter; and many other relatives and friends.
