In loving memory of

David Anthony Maxey
December 3, 2015

David Anthony Maxey departed this life on December 3rd, 2015 at the age of 53, far too young for his family. Born on April 8th, 1962 to Herbert Clarence Maxey and Bonita Ann Mills, he grew up in Bellaire, Texas with his four sisters. David was an outgoing and friendly person his whole life; he never went somewhere and didn't make a friend. In the early years after high school, he showed and interest in marine biology which lead him to enlist in the Navy for a short period of time. Later on, David went to work for Home Depot where he was employed for years and never went without friends and laughter. He was known for giving nicknames and keeping the workplace lively and fun. When he moved to Colorado Springs, CO, David's life shifted to another job title: bar owner. The Olde Towne Tavern was a place where Dave made lifelong friendships and was the perfect host with his quirky attitude and inviting smile. Sitting and talking to patrons was a favorite pastime of his that he did so well. The room lit up when he walked in and people thrived in his presence. One of his favorite hobbies during this time was woodwork. Mostly creating birdhouses, key holders, and in particular, walking canes, David loved to create personalized messages on them and give them as gifts for birthdays or holidays, or just because. Most will remember him for his goofy hats and silly personality. He loved to be the life of the party, and also loved to be the joker. A day never passed without David cracking a joke and putting a smile on someone's face. His smile was as bright as the stars and his heart as pure as gold. Dogs were always among his best companions; David wasn't the same without one. Charlie was his most recent partner in crime, who will miss him dearly. "Everybody loves Charlie" as Dave would say. David is predeceased by his mother; Bonita Ann Mills and his father; Herbert Clarence Maxey. He is survived by daughters; Laura Maxey and Nicole McDonald (Donnie). Sisters; Ann King (Vernon), Bonnie Tannahill, Victoria Hodgson-Maxey (Chuck), and Laura Sue Maxey. He is also survived by nephew; Ron Salg; niece Julie Montano and great-niece Ysabella Montano; and too many loving cousins to count. A celebration of his life will be held at: Exit-73 Bar&Grill at 2p.m on Saturday, December the 19th. Address: 24714 I-45N Spring TX, 77386
