Thomas Alton "Tommy" Moore, Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 6, 2016. Tommy was born to the late Alton Moore and Cornelia Trout Moore on February 14, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Marshall, Texas where Tommy grew up as an outdoor enthusiast developing a passion for hunting and fishing on Caddo Lake, and playing all sports. Tommy graduated from Marshall High School where he excelled in track, then attended Kilgore Jr. College and East Texas Baptist College. He served in the Army National Guard and then had a long, successful career in the banking industry. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. After retirement, Tommy enjoyed spending time gardening in his backyard, watching college and professional sports, and entertaining friends and family with his culinary and lively storytelling skills. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Gless Moore; his son, Thomas Alton Moore, Jr. and his wife Carol; his daughter, Terri Ann Moore; his step-children, Matthew Gless and his wife Wendy, and their children, Cyle, Cameron, and Megan; Shelly Gless Castillo and her husband, Russell; and Tiffany Gless. He is also survived by his older sister, Linda Holiday of Denver, Colorado. Tommy will be missed by all. He will remain in our hearts forever. A memorial service and celebration of Tommy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Founder's Chapel at Grace Presbyterian Church located at 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, Texas 77042. Immediately following the service, guests are invited to greet the family at a reception in the library at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
