Virgilio "Ver" de Jesus,age 69, passed away peacefully December 31, 2018, at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born September 27, 1949, in Malabon, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Ver is survived by two sons. He earned a college degree in Marine Engineering from the Philippines. After graduation, his career took him all over the world. He eventually moved to the United States and worked on various offshore platforms as a seaman and electrician. He retired from the US Steel Company as an electrician. After retirement, he spent many enjoyable months traveling back and forth to the Philippines for vacation.
Ver was a very fun-loving father, loving grandfather and cherished father-in-law. He formed a very special familial bond with his daughter-in-law, Florida. Ver, Joel and Florida would spend many days together sharing happy stories and enjoying home-cooked meals. Ver love playing bingo, a game he enjoyed since childhood. The family would often laugh that bingo is the love of his life. Before he was diagnosed with lung cancer, he would play three times a week or more! He would drive far just to play at Bingo Paradise.
He was a kind-hear ted person and lived his life to the fullest. He was full of energy and always smiling; regardless of his illness always has a smile on his face. His smiling face will be remembered by his family and friends.
A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held in his hometown of Malabon, Metro Manila, Philippines.
