In loving memory of

Tracy Templeton
August 23, 1926 - January 16, 2019

Tracy Templeton McGinnis was born August 23, 1926 in Bowie, Texas to John Hopkins and Effie Coffman.  Her name at birth was Betty JoAnn Hopkins.  Tracy grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.  She is survived by her sisters Peggy Howard and Frances Patterson, brother Jimmy Coffman, son Rock Clum, daughter-in-law Lisa Clum, daughter Jody Rhodes, grandsons Brett, Daniel, and Benjamin, granddaughter Ashley Clum, and great-granddaughters Layla Rhodes and Kynzlee Rhodes and great-grandsons Wyatt and Finn, as well as many nieces and nephews.

When Tracy was eighteen, she changed her name from Betty to Tracy.  She married Vincent McGinnis when she was in her early 20's, divorced, married Bob Clum in, and divorced, then married Arthur Howard.

She had a gift for writing and had attempted writing professionally, and changed her last name to her pen name, Templeton.  Tracy worked as an executive secretary for many years in San Francisco, California.  She owned a vineyard, and made redwood burl tables, until her mother became ill.  She moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma to live with and take care of her mother.  She then started her own wall-papering business!

A few years later, Tracy remarried Vincent McGinnis and moved to Tulsa, OK.   She was active at the First Baptist Church, and helped raise two of her grandsons. When her daughter's company relocated to Houston, Texas, Tracy moved with her.

Tracy was an adventurous woman who loved the outdoors, music, her flower gardens, and most of all her family.  She had dementia that started in her mid-80's, and she lived in an Assisted Living Home (with the great care and love of Daphne Locke and her husband Wesley Locke) until she passed on January 16, 2019.
