Howard "Andy" Schery
May 30, 1938 - October 20, 2019

Howard "Andy" Andrew Schery passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 after a valiant struggle with multiple health issues.  He was born May 30, 1938 and was 81 years old.  Betty & Andy moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Texas to be close to their new grandchild in 1995.  Andy was a very gentle and loving family man devoted to his wife, Betty, and a dedicated grandfather to Jessica & Jeffrey, whom he loved so very much.  Lovingly named Bompa by Jessica when she was little and learning to speak, he became known as Bompa to many who loved him.  Bompa loved music and was elated that they both discovered the joy of music.  There was nothing that made him happier than hearing his grandchildren singing or playing the piano or guitar.

Andy was very patriotic and proud to have served his country in the Air Force as a Parachute Rigger.  Upon discharge, he served in the reserves.  Andy was always aware and concerned for those after him who were prepared to give their lives to protect our freedom.  He was very proud of his niece Shelly, who became a Captain in the Air Force.

Andy was very appreciative of his daughter, Joanne who he loved so much.  He often would comment on how she was always there when needed, no matter how busy she was.

Andy enjoyed working in the garden and yard.  He was particularly proud of his small orange grove that he started from seed.  Joanne & Don's beautiful backyard crepe myrtles came from clippings that Andy brought from Florida!

Andy loved his God and his Lord Jesus and wanted to serve in any capacity he could.  Towards the end, he prayed that God would take him home.

Everyone will remember Andy as a very kind and giving person who was always ready to help anyone in need.

Bompa will be missed so very much by all who loved him.
