Morgan Ybanez
December 31, 1929 - December 29, 2019

Morgan Ybanez, 89, of Houston, also affectionately known as "Grandpa", went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Morgan was born in Tilden, Texas on December 31, 1929 to the late Pedro Laso and Maria Concepcion Ybanez.

Morgan proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He eventually retired in 1981 from General Electric. He was a hard worker, a family man who loved his family and loved spending quality time with them and was a wonderful friend to many. He loved grilling for his family and friends and always enjoyed golfing.

Morgan was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette Ybanez, 4 siblings'; Rosemary Rodriguez, Frances Grohusko, Marcos Ybanez, and Ruben Ybanez. He is survived by his son, Michael Jon Ybanez and his wife, Linda; daughters, Sandra J. Olive, Maria Elena Montes and her husband Albert; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday morning, January 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Distinctive Life Funerals, 5455 Dashwood St. Suite 100, Bellaire, TX 77401. A graveside service will immediately follow at Houston National Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Morgan's many friends and relatives for their continued prayers and words of encouragement.
