Beloved by those of us whose lives she graced, Esther Rachel Sankary Zalta will long be remembered by Ely, her husband of 64 years; her children Edward & Susanne, Alan & Karen, Danny & Robbie, Michael & Carolyn, and Ted; her grandchildren Alyson & Stephen, Ashley, Dana, Leah, Amy, Zoe and Ethan; and her extended family and friends. She lived her life with optimism and grace-her spirit and energy warming all in her presence. By her constant example, she inspired us to seek the best in others, and taught us that life's greatest blessings lie in its simplest pleasures: gathering for a family meal, sharing a good book, or playing a friendly game of bridge. When faced with adversity, she maintained her humor and equanimity; she even found reasons for gratitude. Her empathy, patience, and devotion were boundless. And she sparkled when she laughed and loved. For those of us who have lost a wife, mother or grandmother, we will remember her kindness, elegance, and legacy of love. She will be missed beyond words. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, December 21, 2014, Beth Yeshurun Post Cemetery.
