"Mary Lou and family...We are deeply saddened by the news of John's passing. We (especially Ralph) enjoyed the "Banter" with John the many times we would see him when we owned Ralph & Mary's in Polar. What a jokester he was. He's the only guy that could keep up with Ralph's jokes. We haven't seen you folks for quite awhile but this news brings back pleasant memories of John & Mary Lou. God Bless!! Ralph & Mary Schwartz"

"Although I have resided in White Lake for 2 years, I met John and Mary Lou back in the 1970's at their store. They provided a central location for the community and have continued to be involved and commited to White Lake. My sympathy for the loss of one too young to be taken, but blessings to all as we know John is with God and now healed."

Dianne Kreitzer-With wrote on Jun 1, 2011:

"Dear Mary Lou, Kathy, Holly, Jon and Family, My heart aches for you all. This was so fast and such a shock. I know only too well how you are all feeling right now. I will tell you that time will be your greatest healer. You never forget, but it hurts less and less as the days go by. I will always think of John as one of my "big brothers" because of the time he lived with our family when he worked in Milwaukee before going into the Navy. He is with "Brucie" and "Edna", Carol and Tom now - they are all probably sitting around a card table having a great time. I hope Mom and Dad and Dave are with them. God takes the best ones first I think. We love you all, Dianne and Carly"
