In loving memory of

Alvin Corb
May 5, 1922 - March 10, 2015

Alvin Corb passed away in his sleep on the Tuesday morning of March 10, 2015 at the age of 92. During his long life he was a faithful husband of over 50 years to Bailey Mashinka Corb. He was a dedicated father of his two boys Maury and Ronnie, and adored his two grandchildren Jonathan and Mysha. Alvin was a long time member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun and took comfort in in his faith as was evident by the many Jewish articles in his home. During the 1940's Alvin served his country by being a drummer in the U.S. Coast Guard band. He was fond of those days, remembered them often and kept in touch with his old music buddies for decades. His music involvement was a big part of his later life as well. This gift of music was passed on to his children. His life's work was mostly that of a sales representative, he had the perfect personality for that and was very successful. But he retired from that years ago, which gave him more time to spend with his wife and grandchildren. These were his best years. His life was good, but not without strife and health problems from which he always emerged strong and steady, ready for the next challenge. People that know Al Corb will quickly tell you that his dominate character trait was his large sense of humor. If you were going to be in the same room as Al, it is guaranteed that at some point he was going to be funny. Some special people that were still in Alvin's life till the end are: Verna and Florence Corb, Alvin E and Christy Corb, Chuck Corb, Gary Corb, Madeline Vecellio Corb, Marcy Shulman Corb, Carolyn and Sam Copelin, David and Georgia Adler and Simon the cat.
