Alan Marc Miller, MD passed away at the aged of 67 on August 28, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. He was born on May 31, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Sam Zachary and Gladys Miller.
Alan grew up in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas in 1966. After high school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, and earned his medical degree in 1976 at the University of Texas Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Alan focused on radiology, and tirelessly worked to advance his field. After his residency at the Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana and at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Galveston, Texas, he continued his focus in radiology, taught at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1981 and 1982. In 1983, he moved to the Fort Worth area, where he was Medical Director of Radiology at several facilities between 1983 and 2003. Some of the facilities he served during this period of time were: Twin Oaks Medical Center in Haltom City, Harris Hospital in Azle, Northeast Clinic in Richland Hills, Vencor in both Mansfield and Fort Worth, and John Peter Smith and Kindred Hospitals in Fort Worth. In 2006, he moved to Lubbock and served as a radiologist with a Clinical Appointment from Texas Tech University at the University Medical Center until his retirement on August 31, 20011. During his working life, Alan improved the lives of the countless people for whom he cared, and mentored and compassionately assisted those who needed his help.

Alan met Julie in yoga class in 1997, and they were married in 1999 in Arlington, Texas, and were happily married for sixteen years. Alan and Julie loved sports, and Alan was an accomplished runner in his high school years. True to his love of fitness, he could be found everyday playing ping-pong with friends at the local recreation center. He regularly attended and participated in Julie's pilates classes. He loved going to movies, dancing, and especially traveling. Among the places he visited were Taiwan, China, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Italy, and Hawaii.

Alan is survived by his spouse Julie of Richardson, Texas; his mother Gladys of New York, NY; his brother Bob Miller M.D. of Brazil; his sister Lori Ann Dushkin (Jay) of Houston; his step-daughters Ching Yi Chang Yang (Chinrang) of Washington, D.C., and Hsiang Yi Chang (Harold Yu) of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
