In loving memory of

Sheldon Hillman
April 4, 1944 - December 19, 2015

Shelly Hillman passed away in Houston on December 19, 2015. The most important people in Shelly's life were his wife Margery of 47 years, his daughter Deborah and husband Shy, along with their children, Riley and Ian, his son Daniel and wife Jessica and their son Porter, his twin brother Malvin, and beloved golden retriever Ranger.
Shelly grew up in Brooklyn and was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts, earning the highest Eagle Scout designation and working as a scout camp counselor. After graduating from Brooklyn College, Shelly went on to earn an MBA from New York University. He then spent his entire career of over 36 years working on finance and environmental regulations for Shell Oil. His career eventually brought him from New York to Houston, via Northern California, where he lived for the past 38 years.

Shelly spent countless hours serving his community in a variety of roles, such as precinct chairman, election judge, and neighborhood board member. He was integral in bringing the Constable program to his own neighborhood, as well as others. Shelly served as security director for his community and was recognized on multiple occasions by the Harris County Constable's Department for his ongoing contributions and dedication.

After retiring from Shell, Shelly could always be found with a smile on his face while walking one of his beloved Golden Retrievers. He enjoyed going to Houston Texans football games and was an original season ticket holder. However, most of all, he was a proud grandfather, dedicated husband, and loving father.

In lieu of flowers or food, please consider making a donation to Golden Beginnings the Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston.
