Eugene Zieben
July 16, 1927 - February 29, 2016

Born on July 16, 1927 as Eugene Ziebenberg in the Bronx Hospital, New York City. He grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York, later enlisting in the US Army, serving as a Corporal and was stationed as part of the US occupation forces in Germany during WWII. After the war, he moved to Houston where he met the love of his life, Bernice Melnick, and her beautiful family. They were married on March 25, 1951 for almost 65 years and have three sons, Barry (Bonnie), Perry (Kathy) and Marc (Morna). He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, with one more on the way. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. always beaming with pride and joy over his family. He led by example and was a courageous and gentle man. He is survived by his wife, sons and their families and many friends and relatives. He was in the retail sales business for over 40 years and was always a top producer for whoever he was associated with. He was a Shriner and Mason.He was predeceased by his parents, William Ziebenberg and Lillian Elgot Ziebenberg and his older brother Herbert Zieben. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 11:00am, at Beth Israel Memorial Gardens, 1101 Antoine. Anyone wishing to make donations in his name can do so with the charity of their choice.
