In loving memory of

Ryan Mendeloff
May 14, 1984 - March 11, 2016

Ryan Ferris Mendeloff was the oldest of three sons born to Linda and Gary Mendeloff in Houston, Texas on May 14, 1984. He was the first and only grandson with trademark red hair. When Ryan entered a room you felt his presence. The size of his heart matched his stature. Ryan's heart was full of love, caring, and kindness for all. He never knew a stranger - just like his Papa, Morris Schultz. He had the ability through his open heart and dry sense of humor to connect with people of all ages. Ryan was sweet-natured and affectionate. Ryan lit up the room with his smile. Being the oldest of three, he was his younger brothers' protective gentle giant. Ryan achieved his goal of Eagle Scout by the age of 16. The skills that he learned through scouting propelled him into future entrepreneurial pursuits. This developed into his passion for land development and real estate. He continued this path at the University of Arizona, earning his Bachelor of Science in Urban, Community and Regional Planning in 2007. After graduation, he worked toward his goal of becoming an independent real estate developer. Ryan soon met his wife, Jackie Franklin. He brightened her life, and she became his everything. Ryan's light-heartedness made it second nature to have a special connection with children, especially when his nieces and nephews entered his life. Their Wheaten Terrier, Jasper, entered their lives and was a welcome addition to their relationship. Ryan, Jackie, and Jasper moved to Corpus Christi in January 2014 to begin their new life together. On May 4, 2014, Ryan and Jackie became husband and wife. They planted roots in Corpus Christi and quickly became embraced in the community, forming new strong and loving friendships. They were active members of Congregation Beth Israel of Corpus Christi. Their love of dogs continued with the additions of Declan and Benjamin. Ryan passed away on March 11, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ryan was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his wife Jackie, parents Linda and Gary, brothers Jared and Miles, mother-in-law Bernardine Franklin, father-in-law (of blessed memory) Charles Franklin, grandparents Morris and Sylvia Schultz, Marilyn and (of blessed memory) Jay Mendeloff, sister and brother-in-laws Amy Sher and Victor Cumagun, Josalyn and Erik Dean, Allan and Mandy Franklin, Amy Franklin Kane, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity or Gulf Coast Humane Society. Funeral services are Monday, March 14, 2016, at 3:00pm, at Congregation Beth Yeshurun with interment at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak.
