Jerome "Jerry" Goldstein
June 24, 1947 - April 22, 2018
Jerome "Jerry" D. Goldstein, 70, died Sunday, April 22 at peace at his own home, following recent news of an aggressive form of cancer. Jerry leaves his daughters, Michelle and Stacy Goldstein, who were the light of his life. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia (Peizer) Goldstein. He was also blessed with many great friends and former colleagues.
Jerry was born and raised in Connecticut, and was the son of Harold and Cynthia Goldstein, and the brother of Susan (Goldstein) Ginsberg. After high school, he attended Ohio State University and was in the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity, and then University of Miami (FL) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
After graduating college, Jerry had some evolution in his career, with the earlier part being in the wine distribution business in Omaha, Nebraska. Destined to be a salesman, Jerry then began his career in commercial real estate in 1981, which blossomed into that of great success. In 1994, he joined Marcus and Millichap, where he has specialized in multi-tenant shopping centers. During his tenure there, he has earned thirteen Sales Achievement Awards and was the top producing agent for the majority of years there. Jerry took enormous pride in his career, but most importantly, he relished the friendships he developed over his decades of being in the business.
As he loved the outdoors and staying active, Jerry frequented Memorial Park and Buffalo Bayou for runs or walks. He was also a member of the Houstonian, where he would mingle with friends and industry colleagues, exercise, and work on his health with a trainer. Jerry also had a passion for wine and his trips to Napa further educated his palette enough to charm guests at a dinner table. He was well traveled across the globe; and in recent years, has enjoyed trips to places such as Hawaii, Argentina, Mexico, and ski trips with friends in Colorado. Jerry's greatest pleasure was spending time with his two daughters and watching them grow into beautiful, intelligent women.

He never failed to invite me to the latest Jazz night at one of the clubs in Houston because he knew that was part of my hertiage having gone to the U of Miami Jazz school! We always had a blast!
