In loving memory of

Joseph A. Badje
November 24, 1934 - January 9, 2020

Joseph Albert Badje was born November 24, 1934, in Rake, Iowa, the son of John and Lena (Johnson) Badje. He grew up on the family farm near Rake where he also attended school. After his schooling Joe served his country proudly in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home to farm.

Joe was married to Mary James at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in Rake and Joe continued to farm and raise cattle. He loved farming, but finally had to give it up last year due to health concerns.

He was a true farmer at heart and couldn't spend enough time on the farm and enjoyed tending to his cattle. Joe enjoyed visiting with friends and when out and about would talk to anyone, there were no strangers.

Joe died Thursday, January 9, 2020, at his home in Rake surrounded by family. He was 85.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Rake; children, Sonja and Randy Reimer of Rochester, MN; Amy and Bill Walk of Buffalo Center; Scott and Sharese James of Clear Lake; grandchildren, great-grandchild, a brother, Carl and Joann Badje of Blue Earth, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jennie Swalve, Bertha Irons and Josie Head; brothers, John Badje, Jr. and Lawrence Badje.
