Hazel Mae Fainter
January 8, 1939 - January 10, 2020

Mrs. Hazel Mae Fainter, age 81, of Burlington died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at her residence.
Born January 8, 1939 in Cresco, IA, she was the daughter of Wayne and Sarah (Coleman) Weaver. She married John Fainter June 2, 1967 in Burlington. He died June 14, 2014.
Hazel worked in production at Antennacraft and IRC and as a clerk at J.C. Penney and Woolworths.
She attended Joy Baptist Church, Fort Madison, IA.
Her pastimes included volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader and at the school for PTA, playing cards, fishing, camping, and boating on the sand bar. She enjoyed watching movies and loved animals, especially her poodles and cats.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Shantel) Fainter of Amarillo, TX and Brad (Sherri) Spicer of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters, Tammy Klein of Burlington, Marlena (Tod Walker) Switzer of West Burlington, and Sandy (Ron) Harris of Fort Madison, IA; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Fisher of Burlington; one sister, Edith Sutherland of West Burlington; and her tea cup poodle, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Harvey.
The funeral service for Mrs. Fainter will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16th at Lunning Chapel. Rev. Earl Beal will officiate. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove at a later date. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Please join family and friends for dessert after the service at Pzazz.
According to her wishes, cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
A memorial has been established for Fort Madison P.A.W.S.
