"I never met or spoke with Andy yet tears are running down my face as I write this. I didn?t realize how much he meant to my son until we learned of his passing several weeks ago. I became familiar with Andy when we bought a light from his company as a Christmas present for my then 16 years son who is an inspiring lighting designer. I knew RJ, who is now 20, kept in touch with Andy but I didn?t realize how important he was to RJ and that he became a mentor to him. RJ would often say ?I have to call Andy? but I never gave it much thought. I have since learned that whenever RJ needed to buy rent a light for personal use or a school play, he did his research then asked Andy for his opinion and he was always there to provide advice. He would sometimes say I have something better in the warehouse and sent it to for free or ask RJ to pay shipping. We found out about Andy?s passing in May after RJ contacted him because he was designing a play at college in the fall of 2020 (since canceled due to Covid9) and, as always, needed his advice. The news was devastating to all of us. We found out at about 11:30 pm and RJ went outside on a very cloudy night because he wanted to see the stars. Probably not surprising to those who knew him well, the clouds parted for a moment and he got to see the stars he desperately needed. I?m sure it was Andy letting him know he was still there for him. Andy, thank you for all you?ve done for RJ. You will be greatly missed. Kathy and Ron Craig "

"We knew Andy briefly during the late 80s / and 90s. And later via Facebook. But my memory of Andy is of someone who was genuine. He was a person who enjoyed engaging conversation on any number of topics. He was always calm and made you feel relaxed if you were with him. And then there was the time when he looked after Zera on one of "those" night's out with some of the crew when I was out of town. He stepped in unsolicited to ensure a measure of safety was included with the revelry. I am eternally grateful for him caring for my loved one when I wasn't there. Our deepest, sincerest condolences go out to Andy's family and loved ones. We are besides ourselves with surprise and sadness. Thank you, Andy. Rest peacefully. Husejin and Zera Dervic Dallas, TX"
