Henry "Pete" Peter Beckett Sr.
Canton - Pete Beckett, 70, of Canton passed away 8:23 am Monday, January 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1949 in Peoria to Clyde Coleman and Evelyn Pauline (Wheeler) Beckett. Pete married Barbara Ann Ray. She survives along with five children; Joe Coleman Beckett of Galesburg, Jerry C. Beckett of Lenoir City, TN, Michael Dean Morse of Hampton, IL, Henry Pete Beckett Jr. of Knoxville, TN, and Henrietta Jo Beckett, two brothers; Arther Lester Beckett Sr. and James Allen Beckett both of Ellisville, sister Easter Loveland, fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Clyde Coleman Beckett Jr.
Pete worked as a farmer in his earlier years and later retired from G&D in Morton as a fork lift operator.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life at the Canton Elks Lodge will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton are in charge of arrangements. To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com

"I knew Pete who lived across the street from my brother,he would come into the food pantry on Monday?s and we would chat about what my brother was up to and I would give him food. My deepest condolences going out to his wife and 5 children. Prayers for his entire family and for his friends who knew and loved him best. He was just a very friendly and charismatic man. I enjoyed talking to him,very sorry for his family?s loss."
