Funeral Services for Ms. Leatrice Melton, age 90 of the Copeland Cove Community in Overton County will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Brett Gibbons will officiate. Burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Ms. Leatrice passed from this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Clay County, Tennessee on August 31, 1929 to the late Elliot & Lee Emma Chowning Melton. Leatrice was a member of the Martin Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, being outside, and her Butter Pecan Ice Cream. She also enjoyed getting up early and catching the morning news on WLIV radio.
She leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews, several cousins also survived.
In addition to her parents, Leatrice was preceded in death by her brothers, Quinton Melton, Chowning Melton, and Shorty Melton; sisters, Mary Lou Melton, Estelle Shelton, Kathleen Probst, Nelda Sue Best, Geneva Melton, Imogene Melton, Irene Melton, and Christene Melton.
Pallbearers to serve are Jerry Melton, Roger Melton, William Best, Chet Best, WB Melton, and Johnny Vaughn.
