James "Jimmy" Edward Smith was born on December 3, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Patricia and Clarence Smith, Sr. Jimmy served his country in the United States Marine Corps and as a United States Postal Service Mail Carrier. Jimmy departed this Earth on January 15, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Clarence Smith, Sr.; and siblings, Darrel Rickey, Mary Julianne, and Sherri Renee Smith. Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alphonsine Gracie Smith, of Omaha; children, D. Ricky, II, Trent (Tina), and Danasia Smith, all of Omaha; grandchildren, Macy Foard, Darrick Smith, Myonna Mozee, and Damari Smith, all of Omaha; great-grandchild, Alonzo Mozee, of Omaha; brothers, Phillip McClain-Smith, Charles B. (Angie) Smith, and Clarence "Stonnie" Smith, Jr., and sisters, Markita T. Smith and ShoShann D. Smith, all of Omaha; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
SERVICES 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Salem Baptist Church, 3131 Lake St. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial at Graceland Park Cemetery.
