"I graduated from the Class of '77 with Rick. I remember him sitting across from me in Mr. Sheridan's class. Memories from 43 years ago. I am saddened to hear of Rick's departure. Our lives here are short enough and we each look to the day we are called home. Rick didn't have the patience to wait anymore so his decision was knocking on heavens door. My heartfelt sympathy to the family."

"Karee. I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a great guy. My best memory of Rick was a softball tournament when I was umpiring. I was by second base. He hit the ball and the second baseman got out of the way and I almost got hit hit. He said hey blue didn't realize you could move do fast. "

"I took the field beside him for hundreds of games, thousands and thousands of innings. I covered his back, and he covered mine. I couldn't count the number of times I picked up his cap. We were teammates and will forever be friends. I know I'm not alone in feeling how I feel. But Ricky decided to take the field alone. I'm sure on offense he kept the game close with his powerful bat, but on defense he couldn't possibly cover the entire field by himself. I wish we knew it was "game time". Joe K."
