In loving memory of

John Wesley Brown
January 1, 1932 - January 27, 2020

John Wesley Brown, 88, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 27th, 2020 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care in Polk City on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. In honor of John pie will be served after his service. Burial will follow at the Hopkins Grove Cemetery in Madrid, Iowa.

John was born on January 1, 1932 to John A. and Eva (Kirkland) Brown in Wilmore, Kentucky. As a young child his family relocated to South Dakota where John attended and graduated from high school. John enlisted with Air Force and served honorably during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Germany. Following his return home he began working at the Polk City Savings Bank. He then relocated to Ohio and worked as a collection officer until he moved to Bettendorf and began working for Case International. John built a new house and moved his mother in where he took care of her for many years. He retired from Case International in 1992 and relocated to Ankeny. His sister was elderly and she moved in with him and he took care of her until her passing. John enjoyed building U-Controlled air planes and won many awards at various air shows. Later in life he built remote controlled airplanes. He also enjoyed woodworking especially building china cabinets and clocks. John was a true caregiver of many and will be greatly missed by his family.

Those left to cherish his loving memories are his brother Victor (Betty) Brown, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother David, and sisters Martha, Margaret, Clara, and Georgia.

Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care in Polk City has been entrusted with the care of John and his family.
