Daniel Joseph Ragan, 85 of Maple Glen, PA passed away on August 3rd at Abington Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Irene Engbarth Ragan whom he married 62 years ago while serving in the Army Air Corps. He was the loving father of Michael (Judy) Ragan of Springhouse, Fr. Jerry Ragan of Augusta, GA, David (Kimberly) Ragan of Blue Bell, Maureen (James) McGinty of Chalfont, and the late Dan Ragan , and the late Patricia Sweeney. He is the father-in-law of Jane Ragan Wilmington, De., and Michael Sweeney of Ambler. Mr. Ragan was also survived by his grandchildren: Adrienne (Tim) Kowalski, Aileen (Eric) Wanzer, Ellen (Joe) Louden, Colleen (Michael) Ganley, Meghan (Brian) Erickson, Sarah McGinty, Laura, Jonathan, Matthew, Kate, Trish, Danny, Patrick, Liam Ragan, Caroline and Moira Sweeney; and eight great grandchildren.
He was the 1st class president of St. Thomas Moore H.S. He graduated from LaSalle University where he taught for a number of years in their accounting department. As a CPA, Mr. Ragan was the administrator for the benefit funds of several construction unions, most especially, Operating Engineers, Local 542.
He was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Parish in Maple Glen. Earlier in life he was a cub scout leader at St. Helena Parish in Olney and a Baseball Commissioner at St. Joseph's Parish in Cheltenham.
His world centered around his wife and family and in his great love for them, he made each one feel special. Mr. Ragan was noted for his humor and generosity. He loved shopping and traveling in Europe, lunches at "the club" and breakfasts with his Tommy Moore classmates. He was a great friend and until a month before he died he liked to trade on line. "It was a great life in spite of the market."

Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. Remembrances in his name to St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002 would be appreciated.
