Glennis L. Livingston-Jenkins, 72 of Newcastle, Nebraska passed away Friday, May 02, 2008 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 07, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, Nebraska, with PMA Chad Beckius officiating. Burial was in the Lime Creek Cemetery in rural Maskell, Nebraska.

Glennis was born on February 10, 1936 in rural Newcastle, Nebraska, the daughter of Glen V. and Grace J. (Hagen) Nelson. She grew up in the Newcastle area and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1953. Glennis married Samuel Paul Livingston in September, 1953. The couple resided in South Sioux City, Nebraska until Samuel died in 1962. Glennis was a nurses aid at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca for 10 years.

Glennis was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, Nebraska.

She enjoyed painting, drawing and horses.

Survivors include two sons, Sam and Fran Livingston of Newcastle, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lisa, Nick, Amy and Kim Livingston of Yankton, South Dakota, Rhianna Mesmer of St. Joseph, Missouri, Kaylinn and Heather Mesmer of Sioux City, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Morgan Mesmer, Haley Mesmer and Ryker Livingston-Freng; brothers, Paul and his wife Billie Nelson of Anaheim, California, Bob and his wife Fay Nelson of Jackson, Tennessee; sister, Carol and her husband Rod Gatzemeyer of Parkville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Evelyn Nelson of Newcastle, Nebraska; aunt Aletha Nelson of Newcastle, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.

Glennis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Paul; son, Ray Livingston; daughter, Kandis Keck; an infant daughter, and a brother, Don Nelson.
