"Wishing you peace with prayers as you try and move on without Murph. We started at the NSC together and I helped him with the community and how to get around, etc. His face always lit up when speaking of his family while he was here in Nebraska. My heart hurts for you and I will miss the random emails Murph sent from time to time."

"Mike was an amazing person who so clearly loved his family beyond all measure that he sacrificed his time with them to provide them with a stable future. I was Mike's first supervisor when he started with USCIS in Nebraska and above all, I admired him for this amazing dedication he had for you all. He talked so often of each of you and I was so happy for him when he got the opportunity to move back to Detroit. I truly believe that we change each person that we meet and Mike changed thousands of lives for the better with his kind and caring spirit. I will remember him always for his intelligence, his diligence, his integrity and his love for his family. May God bless you all and with time, may you all find God's peace."

"To the Michael Murphy family, Michael was a part of my family at USCIS, the concern he showed for me during my challenging times always encouraged me. The issues we shared at work showed me he was a caring person. I will miss my morning walk down the hall and speaking and seeing that smiling face, the words "I can't help you" was never spoken from him. A truly good person, a great co-worker and a caring human being. My family has his family in our prayers"

Michael J. Lacey, Esq. wrote on Aug 30, 2012:

"I knew Mr. Murphy on a professional basis at the Detroit, USCIS Office. The first time he assisted me with an info-pass for a client, he went above and beyond the call of duty to help my client, and solve the problem. He repeatedly assisted me with my more difficult cases in a most competent and professional manner. We often chatted about non-business related matters, and I occasionally saw him in the Grosse Pointe Area. He was a kind, considerate gentleman whose untimely passing has caused me to pause and reflect upon our true purpose here on our way to eternity. The concern he always showed for complete strangers leads me to believe that he internalized and lived out his Christian faith. As it says in the song, "Danny Boy," "Whisper an Ave.... just for me," Mike, when next I go to USCIS, I shall do the same, "just for you." Rest in Peace fine colleague. My prayers are with all those whose hearts are now broken by your death."
