Rita Foley wrote on Nov 15, 2012:

"My heartfelt condolences to the Brady family at this time of profound sorrow. I was very fond of Ed and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Ed chaired the dean search committee for the UDM Law School back in 2002, and I was the "new graduate" member of that committee. He was the true definition of a gentleman. We worked together many long hours on the committee and I was in awe of Ed's influence in the legal community. It seemed there wasn't a single person who didn't know, and respect, Ed Brady. I had applied for a position in the U.S. Attorney's Office. During my interview with the U.S. Attorney, I was informed that the U.S. Attorney had already received a call from Mr. Brady singing my praises. I could tell that phone call carried a lot of influence with it. He did that without telling me or without me asking him to do it - he was always seeking to help whomever he could in whatever manner he could. Your husband, father, and grandfather will always be dear to me for the kindness he showed to a brand-new law school graduate and for the example he set for excellence and civility in the practice of law. May the knowledge that Ed now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father be a comfort as you grieve. "

Whenever I saw him, he always took the time to find out what was going on in my life, and I really enjoyed those conversations. While there would be long periods of time that we would not see each other we always picked up just where we left off . Always a gentleman, his civility in and out of the courtroom was something I always admired and emulated.
