"My deepest sympathies for the entire family of Joesph "Jiddu" Hakim. My memories of him are very fond, he was always a very funny very knowledgeable individual who would spend the time to speak to you one on one, even in an environment full of individuals. He was always surrounded by his family who loved him very much, but above all he loved his wife Sue and treated her with great affection. He was a great man and will be missed. "
"My Jiddo was amazing. He was a historian, comedian, and generous man. He will be missed by so many. But, he is with his beloved Susie now."
"Dear family. I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. What brings me comfort in times like these is the scripture found at Revelation 21: 3, 4 where God promises to do away with all sickness and death forever. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and may Jehovah, the God of all comfort, be with your family during this most difficult time in your lives. "
"Thank you Jiddo for making my Sundays very enjoyable. I miss going to church with you. Those were good times. Love you very much and I will miss you."
"Thank you Jiddo for watching Rudolph and Barney with me. Love you Jiddo. Love, Matty"
"Dad, Jiddo,
The best memory is Mackinac Island. It was so much fun and so happy to see you and mom (Sitto) laugh and enjoy yourselves even though mom burped all night! Love you and miss you so much. The best dad (Jiddo) ever.
Love,
Nora (Nu-Nu), Bobby, and of course, Matty"

"The family is in our thoughts and prayers!! May Uncle Joe rejoice in heaven with Aunt Sue"
"My Jiddo filled my life with laughter, knowledge of history, and a love for great movies like Lawrence of Arabia whose soundtrack forever more will draw my memories back to him. Even though he has left this world, he has not left my heart."
"It is with great sadness and heartfelt sympathy that I send my love and offer prayers for the entire Hakim family. Uncle Joe is my Godfather. He and Aunt Sue were there for me for every important event in my life starting with my baptism, First Communion, Wedding, First child and then second. They never forgot anything, and although they were not wealthy people, they showered me with love, time, visits to Kentucky, delicious Lebanese food, homemade gifts, and attention. Now Uncle Joe has joined Aunt Sue. I am a Catholic who loves Jesus due in part to the positive influence they had on my life and the prayers and role models they provided for me. Their generous spirits will never be outdone by the generosity and joy of Our Father who welcomes Uncle Joe home today. Thank you, Uncle Joe, for all you did for me and for loving me as your godchild. Now enjoy your glorious new life with Aunt Sue, all the angels and saints, and our dear Lord. We love you and will miss you."
"Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. May God comfort you at this difficult time. "
