Orvie had a wonderful childhood and loving sister who lived close by, her whole life. She loved and played basketball in school. She married the love of her life, Mr. J. Bruce Barnes, and started her family. Orvie enjoyed gardening, canning and working outside on her family's farm, from working in hay to milking cows. She was always the first up early of a morning, getting breakfast started and getting everyone ready for their day of work. Orvie loved growing hybrid irises and won many competitions with them. She made all of her girls' clothes and enjoyed watching them play basketball in school and cherished going to all of their games. Her girls were her joy, helping them as children and as adults in any way she could. Orvie also enjoyed traveling all over going to antique malls with her girls, planning each trip and always bringing her picnic basket full of goodies. She also made wonderful works of art with her needle and thread.
