Margaret G. Betts, 90, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. She was born November 11, 1929, in Hazleton, Iowa, to Harry and Waneta (Koile) Munger.
Margaret graduated from Hazleton High School, class of 1947. She was united in marriage to Ralph E. Betts on October 19, 1952, in Hazleton. Margaret was a housewife, and also sold Avon and Betts's Drapery. She was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, painting and sewing. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.
Margaret is survived by her son Douglas (Karen) Betts of Albion, daughter Connie Betts of Woodbine, granddaughter Andrea (Roy) Selvera of Cleveland, Texas, grandson Aaron (Kate) Betts of Albion, granddaughter Jennifer (Ken) Harrington and their family of Melbourne, great-grandson Aiden Murphy of Cleveland, Texas, niece Linda Rohrig and family of Cedar Rapids, future grandson (Aaron and Kate are due in June); along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph E. Betts, parents Harry and Waneta Munger, sister Arlene LaBarre, infant daughter Diana and infant son Michael.
Margaret's family would like to thank Franklin Country View Nursing Facility and staff for all of their kindness and great care of Margaret throughout the years.
A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., prior to the prayer service on Thursday. Burial will take place in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in rural Oelwein, Iowa.
