" Just saw Brian last week at Walmart, waiting for his mom. He gave me a strong ?Hi Aunt Diane? ( I had not even seen him, focusing on my receipt, $$$), got up and gave me a firm hug. We chatted briefly saying that ?He was doing fine ?. He was always engaging and loving though we did not see one another often. My belief is that in spite of his struggles, he will be resurrected on that great ?getting up morning? when Jesus comes to claim His own. Sleep on Brian, our ?Gentle Giant? till we meet again."

"To Brian's family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. Break my heart. I was Brian's teacher at KHS and beyond. Such a gentle giant indeed. He was smart and caring and kind to those he cared about and I'm fortunate that he and I were friends. He was so close to getting his diploma and so excited to do so, but the district stopped giving the test. I just know had he gotten that piece of paper, there might have been a different outcome. I am astounded and so sad. Funny story though that Brian and I loved to laugh about...there was a fire drill at KHS one day and as I was standing outside with the kids, I saw Brian take off down the street...lol...I mean hey, with Joe Beez so close...I said to Brian, "I saw you take off and knew I'd not be seeing you for a couple of days..." Teenager antics. Pretty sure I took off during a fire drill in high school too. He was a good guy despite it all and I loved the kid and I told him so. Glad I did. RIP, B. I'll see you on the other side some day. Love, Debbie Izzo"
