Madison- Rita G. Peck, age 97, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She had been employed by the State Board of Medical Examiners and later by Mendota Mental Health. Rita also raised three children as a single mother. She loved vacationing in Wild Rose, WI with any family members and friends who cared to join her. Rita will be missed. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Van Abel and Barbara (Lester) Smith; five grandchildren, Rita (Dwayne) Smits, Lisa (Tim) Gunsolus, Michael Van Abel, Jon (Diane) Van Abel and Rebecca (Mike) Kadinger; 10 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, all of whom she thoroughly enjoyed! Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Anna Gorman; her son, William; four brothers, Joe, Bob, Pat and Francis; and two sisters, Mary and Kaye.
