"I was fortunate to have known Alice for 36 years. She was my best friend Kevin's mother and my grandmother's friend. I found her to be a sweet and caring woman, a feisty scrabble player, and quite witty. A hug from Alice always left me with a feeling of love. I will miss her and wish her a safe passage. With love, Rob Torkildson. "

"Grandma Alice was my uncle in-law?s mother. But to me, she was like a grandmother. I will always remember the beautiful red and white quilt with hearts that she made for me when I was a child and which I still use to this day, some 30+ years later. I remember playing cards with her and enjoying desserts and chocolate together. I remember how beautiful she looked in the pictures of her as a young woman in the 1940s and how much I adored her hair and clothing styles from that time. But most of all, I remember her character: her kindness, helpfulness and generosity towards others; her strength, resilience and tenacity in the face of life?s ups and downs. She was an indomitable spirit, so lovely and so good. My heart is mourning for her passing but I am glad and proud to have known her and so glad that she stayed with us for this long. May her kind, beautiful soul rest in peace, with the angels. "
