Emma Bell Shouse
November 13, 1922 - February 5, 2020

Emma Bell Shouse, 97, of Crofton, KY, passed away on February 5, 2020 in Indianapolis, IN.

Mother Shouse was born in Crofton, KY to Ernest Pepper and Georgia Bell Sharber Pepper on November 13, 1922. She went to Crispus Attucks High School in Hopkinsville, KY. She married her first husband Elliott Skipper in 1946 in Indianapolis, IN and she later united in Holy Matrimony to Elder George Shouse in 1974. She retired from Meridian Insurance. Emma Shouse was a faithful member of Bethel Tabernacle Apostolic Church and True Gospel Tabernacle. Emma joined Bethel at 24 years of age. She was very fond of her pastors Suffragan Bishop Owen Young and District Elder Alfred Amos. She loved singing in the choir, playing the piano, serving as treasurer of nurses, being a Sunday School teacher, and being a member of minister's wife association of the ABSA. She loved to attend the conventions.

Mother Shouse is preceded in death by her parents, her 7 siblings, and both of her husbands. She was also proceeded in death by her daughter Georgetta Davis and son Julius Skipper.

Mother Shouse is survived by her children Donna (Robert) Brunson, Brenda (Kenneth) Breland, Lynda Skipper, Janice Gaskine, Calvin Skipper, Maybelle (Horace) Martin, Sherea (Patrick) Pettiford, Sherman Skipper. Her surviving Shouse Children Hazel, Patricia, Marilyn, Elaine, Carol, Arnick, Becky, Sheila, Rita, Lillie. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.

Visitation will be 10:00am, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Bethel Tabernacle Apostolic Church.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Bethel Tabernacle Apostolic Church with the District Elder Alfred Amos of Bethel Tabernacle Apostolic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family of Mother Shouse wishes to extend our sincere thanks for the many deeds of kindness shown during our time of sorrow. May God be with you always.
