Robert Eugene Bradley, 69, of Keokuk, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Unity Point Health in Keokuk.
Bob was born in Keokuk, to King and Betty E. (Stewart) Bradley on May 4, 1950. He was united in marriage to Linda Florence on July 13, 1972 in Carthage, IL. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2019.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Keokuk. He graduated Keokuk Senior High School with the class of 1969 and later completed a year of college at Southeastern Community College. Throughout his high school years, Bob was known to be quite an athlete and participated in basketball, track, and baseball. After graduating high school he pursued factory work at Sheller Globe and Foote Mineral. In later years he worked at Feil Auto Sales, managed the Inside Challenge a family fun entertainment center, and right before retirement also worked at Hawley's Heating in Keokuk. Bob was an ordained minister but his true calling in life was teaching his street ministry to friends, loved ones, and anyone he encountered. Bob enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, watching sports, and cooking, and let me tell you, his barbecue ribs would make your mouth water. Bob enjoyed meeting new people and throughout his life he never knew a stranger. Bob enjoyed a variety of other social activities including playing cards, taking Linda out to eat before she passed, and listening to music. Anyone who knew Bob knew that he was so extremely proud of his children as well as grandchildren and bragged continuously of all of their accomplishments. Bob always told his children that his mother completed the accomplishment of all of her children attaining high school diplomas and she wanted all of her grandchildren to have college degrees. All of Bob's children met and exceeded that goal.
Bob is survived by two daughters: Bobbi Jean (Randy) Halemeyer of Keokuk, Dr. Vertna P. West of Fresh Meadows, NY, and one son Robert E. Bradley, Jr. of Omaha, NE. Bob also had two grandchildren; Rhyson and Reagan Bradley, one sister; Brenda Bradley of Keokuk, two brothers; King (Jean) Bradley and Eric (Vickie) Bradley, all of Keokuk; and one sister-in-law; Linda M. Bradley of Chicago, IL.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Linda, three brothers; James (Nancy) Bradley, Michael Bradley, and Delbert Bradley.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2020, at New Bethel Church, 1217 Morgan Street in Keokuk from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. and the celebration of Bob's life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
Bob will be laid to rest next to his wife, Linda, at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk following services.

"I remember meeting Bob a few years ago while I was delivering mail and our first conversation was about The Lord. From that day on anytime we would see each other he would encourage me in my faith and make a difference for Christ where he has you. He would invite me in for a meal on my lunch break at least once a week. He really enjoyed our times of fellowship. After Bob got sick and wasn?t able to get out much His ministry was to bless someone?s day by making food for them so that they would be blessed. That was his great delight seeing me enjoy the good tasting food he provided. I?m thankful and grateful for his kindness and hospitality. I know I will see him again someday praising our savior all the Day Long! Seeing Jesus...day of rejoicing that will be!! Love you Bob! You have fought the pod fight.. you finished the race and kept the faith - Mailman Ryan Wroughton "
"Rest in peace dad, you completed your work and lived a devoted and completely selfless life. You taught me how to be a man, all about faith, unconditional love, forgiveness, and perseverance. Gone are the days where we get to go for 3 hour long car rides talking scripture and listening to music, but, realize that you left your imprint and I know my calling! You always had a heart and compassion for the despondent, broken-hearted people; that's where I get it from and wouldn't have it any other way. You were sometimes misunderstood, but all I witnessed was motivation from a pure heart! Be with mom, we'll all be fine; the tears are of joy, not sadness, and glad you are no longer in pain and suffering!"
