Roberta Todd McGowan, 49, passed away on June 26, 2009, after a gallant lifelong battle with the ravages of juvenile diabetes. Robbie was a genuine inspiration to her family, her many friends, and her doctors as she faced each medical crisis with unflinching courage, remarkable grace, and her trademark wit. She was a wonderful daughter and sister, a giving friend to many, and a courageous example of how to live.
Robbie is survived by her mother, Barbara Barker Moore, and sister, Leigh McGowan Rosenow, who were as devoted to Robbie as they were sustained by her love. She was the daughter of James McGowan. Robbie enjoyed a special relationship with her grandparents, Ralph Murphy Barker and Emmer Hammond Barker. She will be sorely missed by her half-brother Garret McGowan, half-sister Kirsten McGowan, nephew William Todd Rosenow, niece Anne Hammond Rosenow, her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and Dart
"Mrs. Moore and Leigh sorry to hear about Robbie. You are in my prayers."
