Billie Jean Kesley
March 26, 1920 - July 3, 2009

Billie Jean Hicks Kesley passed away after a long illness on Friday, July 3, 2009 with her family at her side. Mrs. Kesley was born on March 26, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ailene Hicks. Billie Jean and Howard N. Kesley, who predeceased her in November 2008, were married for 66 years. She is survived by her children: Rodger B. Kesley (Ann); Deborah Kesley Bradley (Nick) and Robert H. Kesley; her grandchildren: Braxton and Quentin (Maria) Bradley and Rachel and Brian Kesley. Billie Jean was devoted to her family and worked tirelessly in her call to volunteer at schools, civic originations and church. She had a lifelong passion for art and leaves a legacy of many beautiful works, which are treasured by her family. Her compassionate and loving nature along with her keen sense of humor will remain in the hearts and memory of all those who knew and loved her. Billie Jean and Howard were members of Brentwood United Methodist Church for many years. Services will be conducted there on Wednesday, July 8, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Visitation will be in Knoxville on Thursday, July 9 at 12:00 noon at Gentry-Griffey Chapel with internment following at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
