"We just found out about Gunther passing. It was such a shock. I will always remember Rick and Gunther talking German at the Restraunt Linderhoph. They seem to both have enjoyed it.
I know he made many people happy with him providing such great Germany food to the Knoxville area.
I hope all his family and friends know how much he meant to all of us!! Thanks for sharing him with us!!

"Eating at the Linderhof was always a treat. We loved to bring our friends and introduce them to Gunther and the Linderhof family. Gunther made the best steak anywhere! We have so many fond memories of late night discussions with him about politics and his life story. He will be missed....

"I only got the message from Nick when I got home, just before 2:00 on Friday. Looks like I would have barely made the service, had I had enough warning to get ready. Gunther was a unique, unforgettable personality, and I am really sad to hear that he is gone. You never think that this life is so ephemeral, until people who you are sure you will see again suddenly move on. Let us hope to a better place. I hope, for Anita and his close relatives, that after the sadness of his passing, they will hold on to, and treasure, all the good memories, his stories, his unique character and smile, his warmth, and the way he made people feel like they were his friends."

"Mein aufrichtiges Beileid, my sincere condolences to Guenther and Anita's family. Nights at the Linderhof were always memorable events. Not only was the food authentic, but the warm and open atmosphere made it extra special. And yes, Guenther coming out of the kitchen at the end of a busy night was often the highlight! Wherever he will be cooking now, they'll certainly eat VERY well."

"I will always have warm memories of my many evenings at Restaurant Linderhof and the happy times with my "Linderhof family." Gunther's good humor and genuine Bavarian pride always shone bright. Some of the happiest moments at the restaurant were when he emerged from the kitchen after a busy night to stop at every table and chat with the guests. He was truly a great restaurateur."
