"Isaac Sara Dacey Karen Alan and Jody; our sincerest thoughts are with you as you go through these difficult times. It is hard to know where to begin in describing how great of a person Jerry was. We are cousins and I remember him as far back as my memories go as we were born about 6 months apart. I loved the Taylor family reunions at the farm and hanging out with Jerry. I especially remember pheasant hunting as a kid at the farm near Elwood with Jerry his 20 Gauge and the family dog Bandit. Sometimes we would walk for miles without seeing a single bird but still had a great time just being there. I now cherish those memories even a bit more. This season the first roster I get will be for Jerry! Everyone who knew Jerry will have many similar memories that will be carried with him or her throughout their lives. Lets all remember to stop for a few moments every November 21st and August 16th and play back a few of those memories. "

I will always remember Jerry as big physical guy but his even greater strengths were his temperment and his kindness. I am truly sorry for his loss in this world where there are few brighter lights. My condolences to his wife and family. SFC Timothy M. FrantzenU.S. ARMY"

The good definately go too young.Nothing can make it better . . . rememeber all the great times that I know you have had and keep them close to your hearts over the next few months. A good high school memory I will never forget is Jerry and Mark cruising Maquoketa and we always knew where they were as we could hear them. "Dacey Issac and Sara... Like many I am sorry for the tragic loss of your best friend and father. Many of us remember Jerry as the BIG GUY. Now he is THE BIG ANGEL. Issac and Sara like Mommy and everyone else says... Your Daddy loves you like nothing else in this world. I say LOVES because knowing him he'll never stop no matter where he is! He will always be with you now wherever you go. He will do his best to be your guiding angel and STILL protect you from harm. As the two of you already know your Daddy is one of the greatest men I ever knew! The love he carried in his heart for you really showed everyday. You can hold your head high and be proud to say you had THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!!! Dacey I don't know where to begin. Maybe with the time at Fay's Pool Party or the Buckcherry/Hinder/PaPa Roach Concert last summer! That was a great time. Good thing Jerry was the BIG GUY there because he got that stick for Issac. :) The two of you opened your home to my brother and I so we didn't have to drive back to Davenport. That goes to show what wonderful people you are and what kind of husband you had. If you need anything at all don't hesitate to ask. I'll drive up there if need be. To the rest of Jerry's Family; I am sorry I never meet you but if you are anything like Jerry you are wonderful people. He will be missed!YOU ARE ALL IN MY FAMILY'S THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!"

Bonnie Daemmrich wrote on Aug 16, 2008:

"Such a sorrow to come upon this fine family. In all my associations with Dacey and the children I have been so impressed with the kindness and respect of the children; the affection and attentiveness of their parents. As one who also lossed a father tragically many years ago while in elementary school I know Jerry will be deeply missed; his absence leaving a big hole in all your lives. I pray that you will know the support and caring of your friends family and God throughout this very difficult time and as you step into a different kind of future as a family. Shalom."
