"I dont know what to say except that i pray that you are running and playing with dennis. I pray for all your family and your children and grandchildren and wife. To the surviving family i pray you have found peace. I know you might get tired of strangers comenting on such personal matters. But the story of dennis touched my soul when i heard it on the news a few years ago . I have a hard time getting it out of my head.i live about 20 minutes north of Knoxville in a little town called rocky top . I think of dennis every time we go to smokey mountains which is about twice a year. I pray for your family and i am sorry for intruding on such a personal matter"

Martin Hartlley wrote on Nov 5, 2014:

"Before i ever met Bill, many years before as a young father I felt the pain of this family and participated in that search for Dennis. Years later, as a consulting electrical engineer, I had the pleasure of doing electrical design on one of Bill's many jobs and continued to do so for several years. In fact it was on his very last job that we still were working together to complete. It is truly another sad day and my thoughts and prayers are with Violet and this family. Yet GOD does tell us; Ps. 30:5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning". Good morning Bill! With all respect, Martin Hartley"
