Kristyn Leigh Farley, age 16, got her ultimate healing and went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2015 at East Tennessee Children's Hospital with her parents at her side. A smart, feisty, funny, and passionate young lady, Kristyn was known for her love of fashion and cooking. She also enjoyed pop culture, and watching movies. She will be remembered for her fanaticism for the Lord of the Rings. One of her favorite memories was her recent hunting trip with the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, where she was able to get a deer. Kristyn made friends everywhere she went.
Kristyn is survived and will be forever missed by her parents, Jim and Renata Farley; sister, Meghann; twin sister Katelyn; grandfather, James A. Farley, Sr. and wife Mary Ann; grandmother, Patricia Pleasanton; uncle, Doug Farley and wife Brenda; aunt, Greta Heiss and husband Dave; cousins, Michelle, Justin, Tyler, & Brandon Farley and Heather, Amy, Rachel and Evan Heiss; great-uncle and great-aunt Richard and Anita Carey; special friends, Nora, Elena, and Lora; and so many other friends she loved. The family would like to express their gratitude to Provision Center for Proton Therapy and to the ETCH doctors, nurses, and staff who held a special place in Kristyn's heart.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, November 8th at 4 pm at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, with a Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in her memory to the Butterfly Fund of East Tennessee at butterflyfund.org or to ETCH. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Farley family and invites you to view and sign their guestbook below.

Although I am sad, I can also take comfort in the fact she is no longer hurting and has received her Heavenly reward. She (and her family) will always hold a special place in my heart!! "Jim, Renata, Meghann, Katelyn and family,
Jim, many years have passed since our carefree old Tennessee Tech and Howard Brothers Dept Store days. Many years have passed but we kept in common our love for family and we were both blessed to love some amazing daughters! I can not even begin to imagine your family's heartbreak... a parents heartbreak. You have all been constantly on my mind since you're post and I have lifted many prayers. May God's peace that passeth all understanding be with all of you.

Thankful she is no longer hurting and joyful that she is now in the presence of Jesus! Praying for peace, comfort, grace, and strength for her incredible family in this time of grief and for joy in knowing that she is safe in the arms of our Heavenly Father and that they will see her again one day!!"

"Kristyn was always a pleasure to assist. The memory this special young lady has left me with is her immence passion for ALL she found of interest. Any subject of conversation we entertained, she would have a definate opinion and felt so comfortable freely sharing. Her ability to reach out to others, in compassionate camaraderie, was only one of the gifts she was granted to bring in friendship to others she came in contact with. I feel sure her impact will live on through lives she touched. My prayers are for peace and comfort to all who will miss her, but especially for the family."

"I was so blessed by the chance to be with Krysten one last time.... But then I always felt lucky when I got to be her nurse. She was so much fun to spend time with, even in the pain. What an amazing young woman who let us into her world and made our long nights seem shorter. I loved her spirit, her honesty, her individuality, and her stories. She was surrounded by such a caring, selfless, and strong family who went out of their way to take care of us while we tried to take care of them. Cheering on such a fighter was a long rewarding road. Prayers for peace and rest for the Farley's, just as Krysten has found peace and freedom from pain- but I doubt she will be resting or in bed again anytime soon!"

One can never imagine losing a child and for that you all are our prayers. Kristyn was a special girl who endured a lot during her last few years, but from what I've read from others, she touched them in a special way and she will never be forgotten. Our love to you all and may God give you peace in the days and weeks to come."

"I was so saddened to read of your losing Kristyn. I have frequently thought of you and your family since you helped me with my mortgage 3 1/2 years ago. You, Renata, stood out in your kindness even as you began this journey. I only briefly met Kristyn ,and you may not remember me, but I still wanted to let you know, I care and my heart is with you and each member of your family as you go through this. She, as I'm sure are your other daughters, sounds like one fantastic young lady.
Sincerely,
Pauline Hamilton"
